Back in the Groove of School

Winter semester always seems to start too soon each year. This year I think I felt like I needed a break from Christmas break. It seems like I always look forward to a break, but then never actually get the things done that I plan to. However, the best part about this new semester is that we are now married and we just absolutely love life. My semester is going great so far, and I think a big part of that is because I get to wake up every morning next to TJ.

Somehow we got our schedules to work out quite nicely, so we still get to see each other at random points of the day. We also are taking an 8:00 am Doctrine and Covenants class together which has been really fun so far.

I think it would be so funny to see us in the morning. First, my alarm usually goes off, and then I continue to press snooze for the next 30 minutes. Then, TJ's alarm on his side of the bed goes off, and he also continues to press snooze for the next 30 minutes. After that 30 minutes passes by, we both pop up out of bed, frantic that we are running late. We then both get ready for the day in our little bathroom with our little mirror. It can sometimes be very funny with both of us trying to get our faces in the mirror at the same time. I'm usually good to grab a granola bar or banana and head out the door.....but my husband always has to eat something more filling for breakfast. So after his 3 large bowls of cereal we finally head out the door, me giving him a hard time for making us late. It's then that we usually remember that we still have to start the truck and scrape the ice off the windows. Let's just say that because of all of this delay, we tend to get a morning work-out in as we run up the hill on campus.

Although I'm usually a little grumpy in the morning (I am NOT a morning person!) and TJ likes to tease me and ask me a lot of questions in the morning (which he knows drives me crazy when I'm still sleepy), I don't think I would want to change a single thing about our morning routine. It makes me laugh everyday. It makes me happy to be starting each day with the man that I love. We should have made our new years resolution "waking up right when the alarm goes off". Oh well, for now this works for us!
