Church Perks

This past weekend was our first we've spent in New York since moving here. So on Sunday we ventured off to find where our church meets. It's pretty close to our apartment which is definitely a plus. It is such a cool building.
I don't know if it's just me, but I think this building is so neat! As we walked down the street toward it I told TJ, "That can't be it. It looks like a different church." Once we got right in front and saw the sign, there was no denying we had indeed found it.

While the outside may look different from the norm, the inside looks just like any other LDS building (I think those of you who have been inside an LDS meetinghouse would agree with me) BUT skinnier and with multiple floors. How do they do that?! Man, New York City is so cool.

The outside was exciting enough for us two new city kids, but it got even better inside when we met some very kind people. Several of them came up to us, asked if we were new and welcomed us to the ward. What a great perk of being a member of the church. It's like a little built-in support system no matter where you move. It's nice to have that ward family instantly, when you don't know anyone or anything about the new place you find yourself in.

So now when you come visit we can take you to the two buildings the Stone's have discovered and think are cool: Home Depot and church! Bet that makes you want to come visit huh?!

  1. I feel the same way! I've moved several times to a brand new place with no one or with Joel and it's always so awesome having instant friends & people who will help you and love you. Pretty building! We would love to come visit sometime!
